Leading with Trust: How Stephanie Gissime Builds Alignment and Confidence in Roofing
For Stephanie Gissime, leadership begins and ends with trust.
“You have to lead by example and put people first, always,” she says. “Titles and strategies mean nothing if your team doesn’t trust your intentions.”

That philosophy has guided Stephanie throughout her 27-year career in the building materials industry — more than 20 of which have been spent in roofing manufacturing and sales leadership. Today, as Director of Sales for GenFlex — part of Amrize’s portfolio of commercial roofing brands — Stephanie leads national sales strategy, team development, and key account management across North America.
Her leadership style is grounded in consistency, follow-through, and humility — qualities that she says create alignment faster than any directive ever could. “When people see you willing to do the work beside them,” she adds, “they’ll go further for the brand, the customer, and the vision.”
Stephanie’s proudest professional moments aren’t tied to revenue or recognition — they’re about people. Watching someone she’s coached step into a leadership role or hit a milestone they once thought was out of reach, she says, are the moments that truly matter.
She credits both mentors and challenges for shaping her approach. “The best mentors didn’t hand me answers — they challenged my perspective,” she explains. “And honestly, some of my biggest lessons came from tough moments — losing a customer, being underestimated, or leading through change. Those experiences taught me empathy, resilience, and the power of transparency.”
Looking ahead, Stephanie is energized by the evolution of the commercial roofing industry — particularly the intersection of technology and craftsmanship. She sees data, sensors, and digital tools enhancing how roofs are designed, installed, and maintained, while a new generation of professionals brings greater collaboration and diversity to the field.
Outside of work, Stephanie finds balance in the outdoors — from motorcycle rides through the mountains across the US to creative home projects or quiet time in nature.
A lifelong advocate for women in the roofing and building materials industry, Stephanie recently joined National Women in Roofing (NWIR) to help support the next generation of female leaders. “It gives women a space to learn, be heard, and see what’s possible through others’ success stories,” she says. “That visibility matters. NWIR isn’t just shaping careers — it’s shaping the culture of our industry.”
