NWIR Board of Directors Roles

The Board of Directors is the governing body for National Women in Roofing. The board is comprised of a variety of positions ensuring not only coverage of key programs and services but geographical diversity as well.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Provides strategic oversight, ensures the mission and goals of the organization are upheld, and manages board governance and high-level decision making between full board meetings.

2 out of the 3 criteria must have been met to apply for a position on the NWIR Executive Committee:

  • Must have served on a minimum of two national committees
  • Must have served as a Chair or Vice-Chair on at least one national committee
  • Must work for a roofing contractor, roofing manufacturer, distributor or provide service to the roofing industry

WORKING COMMITTEE CHAIRS
Lead standing committees that implement the strategic work of the organization through specific focus areas. Our working committees will include: Councils, DEI, Finance, Industry Alliances,  Mentoring and Workforce Development.

DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVES
Serve as a liaison between local councils/ members in their geographic region and the national board to ensure consistent communication, alignment, and support. Specific functions include association ambassador to the industry, representative at events within their geographic region and council encouragement.

Orange - SOUTHWEST
Green - NORTHWEST
Teal - LOWER CENTRAL
Purple - UPPER CENTRAL
Red - SOUTHEAST
Blue - NORTHEAST

TASK FORCE LIAISON
This position involves monitoring the activities and progress of NWIR task forces and serving as a conduit between those task forces and the board. The person in this role is a non-voting member of the board but serves an essential purpose in helping keep task forces on track to accomplish their objectives.

INDUSTRY-AT-LARGE
Provide insight and expertise from specific industry segments (manufacturing, distribution, contracting, consulting, etc.) to ensure a well-rounded board perspective. These seats are non-voting but provide well-rounded insight into the activities of the board.
