Laura Kuzy
Co-Owner | Storm Guard Roofing and Construction –Durham/Chapel Hill
In 2014, Laura and her husband, Michael, took a leap of faith that would reshape both their lives and careers. When Michael accepted a sales manager position with his brother and sister-in-law’s Storm Guard franchise, the couple relocated from New Jersey to Raleigh, North Carolina.
That chapter grew even more meaningful in January 2025, when Laura and Michael proudly acquired the business alongside new partners, bringing their own leadership vision to Storm Guard of Durham/Chapel Hill. Laura now wears many hats in the company, leading efforts in process and business development, human resources, and customer service; all with the same passion and care that has defined her 35+ year career in customer-focused industries.
Prior to joining Storm Guard, Laura spent 20 years in the healthcare field, where her natural ability to connect with people and solve problems made a lasting impact. Whether she’s helping a homeowner after a storm or mentoring her team, Laura believes every interaction is an opportunity to make someone’s day better.
Family has always been at the heart of everything Laura does. She and Michael are proud parents of two daughters: Ashley, who lives in New Jersey with her husband and three children, and Rachael, who has worked alongside her father at Storm Guard since 2015 and lives nearby with her husband and two children. Being “Nana” to five beautiful grandchildren keeps Laura happily on her toes and fills her life with love, laughter, and joy.
Laura is passionate about building strong relationships, helping others, and taking on challenges with a full heart and an open mind. She’s proud to lead a business that not only protects homes but also strengthens the community she now calls home.
