June is a month of celebration for the LGBTQ+ community. Last year we covered the history of Pride Month, but I urge each of you to look far past the rainbow parades and dive into why Pride exists today. The history of our rights hinges on a momentous event that happened on June 28th, 1969. That’s right… really not that long ago. As we move forward as a Country and as a world, this month is celebrated as a way to remember the brave individuals that came before us and took a stand to be authentically themselves.

This month, the DEI committee would like to celebrate some of our own LGBTQ+ industry leaders. Our challenge to you is to research the words presented to you as these features appear on your timelines. Find their meaning. Connect with someone that may comment on the post to learn more. With this knowledge, we can only grow as people to further understand our neighbors and friends. Together, with many identities and values, truly any and everything is possible.
