A coalition of roofing trade associations representing contractors, manufacturers, distributors and consultants urges eligible individuals to roll up their sleeves for COVID-19 vaccinations when available and recommended by local health officials and medical professionals.

The widespread distribution and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccinations is critical to our shared social and economic recovery. Our industry is built on the community service of keeping roofs over our neighbors’ heads. Today’s challenges call upon the roofing industry once again to be community leaders and do our part to help put an end to the pandemic. That is why the signatory associations urge eligible individuals to get vaccinated when appropriate under their local plans. This simple step is vital to the rebuilding process – both in the sense of a return to normalcy in our daily lives and in economic terms for the construction industry and broader economy. The unprecedented effort to rapidly vaccinate is a shared responsibility and must be supported by all of us in the roofing industry.

As roofing industry professionals and other essential workers receive the COVID-19 vaccines, we must all remain vigilant in our adherence to the practical safeguards of wearing masks, washing our hands and social distancing. The more we do now as responsible individuals, the sooner we will be able to do more together as families, friends and colleagues.
