Sometimes I just don’t know where to begin. I have said it before, and I will say it again. National Women in Roofing is my oxygen. The women we meet, the friendships we develop here in this AMAZING organization, do NOT compare to other organizations. The friends I have made in NWiR are truly my tribe.
Every now and then we need to destress. We need our tribe. We have a “Wine Down Wednesday”. It’s not about what’s in the glass. It’s about the bonding, sharing and encouragement each and every one of us receives. I mentioned on one of our Wine Downs I would be traveling to Puerto Rico for work. Lorna asked when so she could make sure she would be there at the same time. Not only was she there. She shared Puerto Rico with me. She rolled out the red carpet. She shared her family with me. She attended the show I was working. Correction… She WORKED the show with me. She helped to translate for those I had a language barrier with. She went above and beyond for me. I can’t thank her enough.
We decided to host a Wine Down Wednesday together. We decided since we couldn’t bring everyone to Puerto Rico, we would bring Puerto Rico to everyone. Unfortunately, it was dark early so they couldn’t see the sand and water right behind us. Lorna picked the perfect place to host from. Thank you to all the ladies who joined us! It was great having you there.
The women in this organization truly support one another. Next time you have an opportunity to participate in a Wine Down Wednesday, do it. Jump on even if for a short while. You will be glad you did. You will walk away knowing you are part of the tribe. You will know you have a network. You will know you are supported.
