The heat of July is bringing a new HOT TOPIC : Single-Ply Roofing Membranes

Many people think that ‘single ply’ is the answer to their flat roofing. Single-ply roofing membranes have only one thing in common – that is: they are single ply, or just one layer of membrane that is a waterproofing barrier. The similarity stops there.

– EPDM Roofs. EPDM, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, is the most common thermoset roof membrane.
– PVC Roofs. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) roofs are commonly used thermoplastic membranes that come in light gray and white colors.
– TPO Roofs. Thermoplastic Polyolefin one a few different types of rubber which is usually a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber
– KEE Roofs. Ketone Ethylene Ester, a PVC polymer membrane

For the month of July we will explore the different types of single-ply available in the market. Pros, cons, costs and how to select the best for your roofing project.
