The Northern NJ Council rang in the New Year with an outline for a fantastic 2022!

In a lunchtime Zoom meeting, the 2022 board transitions were announced. The council operates in 2-year terms with rotating elevations. Approaching roles with term limits exposes participating members to a variety of developmental and growth opportunities. In 2022, Erica Sherman was elevated from Vice-Chair to Chair and Wendy Lucas assumed the Vice-Chair position; Lynn Picone, Eileen Troia, and Maggie Nyk continue with additional board responsibilities.
Each year the council holds 12 meaningful meetings with a rich mix each quarter allowing for networking, fun, and opportunities to learn. The meeting schedule for the first 6 months was announced with topics including making homemade mozzarella, golf lessons, roofing education, and a celebration of International Women’s Day.

Wendy Lucas updated the group on the success of the 2021 Season of Gratitude which included a bountiful charitable contribution to The Center for Hope and Safety Domestic Violence Shelter in NJ. Gift cards, clothing, toys, personal items, and food donations helped make the holiday brighter for the victims of abuse residing at the shelter. The meeting continued with zoom room networking that included several new faces and a ”spin the wheel” contest where the winner was awarded a mentoring session with their choice of mentors including Council Members; Lynn Picone – GAF, Technical Sales Director, Christine Mockenhaupt – SRS Regional Asset Manager or Patti Ventura – CFO, PB Roofing.
