A leading coalition of roofing associations is continuing the Quarterly Market Index Surveys, designed to provide a barometer of the industry’s business conditions. The one-of-a-kind poll follows a successful effort last year, drawing on the views of contractors and roof consultants, who are then provided with exclusive access to the results. Roofing professionals can report their perceptions about 4th quarter results in the Survey for Reroofing at bit.ly/RoofingSurvey and submit responses through January 21st.
“This is a great opportunity for anyone in the roofing business to contribute to our knowledge about the industry, and to have access to that knowledge once the survey is complete,” said Ellen Thorp, Executive Director of National Women in Roofing, speaking on behalf of the coalition. “We encourage all of our roofing contractor and roof consultant colleagues to participate. The more responses, the better the results, the more we will all learn.”
This year’s survey launch builds on the momentum of the coalition’s initial effort that measured perceptions of business activity in quarters 1 – 3 in 2021. More than 300 respondents have completed the eight-question survey over the past three quarters. Two-thirds of the responses came from roofing contractors and one-third were submitted by roof consultants. The results have generally indicated that despite the Covid-19 pandemic and material and labor shortages, opportunities in the reroofing industry have improved or held steady when compared with business in the same quarter of 2020.
The survey is an industry-wide effort to collect information about the reroofing market spearheaded by a coalition of trade associations, including the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association, Canadian Roofing Contractors Association, Chemical Fabrics & Film Association Inc., EPDM Roofing Association, International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, Metal Construction Association, National Roofing Contractors Association, National Women in Roofing, Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association, Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association and Single Ply Roofing Industry.
