3. What do you embrace and love most about your culture?
a. Love being raised with a great work ethic and being
provided with the opportunity to create the life that you
choose to.
b. Unique food, taught about diversity, centered around
being happy and carefree while still working hard,
because of the Island lifestyle in CUba
4. What is something you want others to know about your
heritage?
a. Cuba is not a free country and our peoples main goal has
been to have freedom, cuban americans appreciate
being able to experience freedom greatly.
5. Have you faced any challenges in your life because of your
ethnicity?
a. Only my own limiting beliefs. I have been surprised by the
amount of people who do not understand the diversity
between latin heritage.
6. Who has been an inspiring figure of Hispanic descent
throughout your life? How or why has this person made an
impact?
a. Pitbull. He created an empire by embracing his own
culture while maximizing what this country has available
for him. He is a creative businessman who invests into
himself and still does his best to give back to his
community. He has remained humble through multiple
successes.
7. What is your favorite way to celebrate your heritage?
a. Dancing is a big part of our culture and celebrations. It is
one of the ways we have been free to express ourselves
as a country. I feel the most free when I am smiling and
dancing with my son and loved ones.
