Join us on April 6, 2022 from 7:00 – 8:00 pm EST as we discuss So you want to talk about race?
In this #1 New York Times bestseller, Ijeoma Oluo offers a revelatory examination of race in America
Protests against racial injustice and white supremacy have galvanized millions around the world. The stakes for transformative conversations about race could not be higher. Still, the task ahead seems daunting, and it’s hard to know where to start. How do you tell your boss her jokes are racist? Why did your sister-in-law hang up on you when you had questions about police reform? How do you explain white privilege to your white, privileged friend?
About us
Our goal is to select books that provide opportunity for personal and professional growth, as well as some fun! Our monthly book club calls will focus on thoughtful and engaging conversations on a book’s overall messaging and how it may apply to our lives. We hope our book club offers members a chance to unplug from work. Spend some time with other NWiR members, share ideas and thoughts, have fun and make some new connections! Download the Bookclubz App to get updates on books we are reading, take part in polls and discussions and get updated meeting information.
