Build My Future OKC

The Oklahoma NWiR council is participating in a community education event called Build My Future.
What is Build My Future? A Construction Career Day for high school and tech center students across the OKC & Tulsa metro areas. Student activities include educational displays, equipment operations, and learning experiences. The Oklahoma NWiR Council has served at this event for the last 3 years and it has been a very fulfilling experience to teach students about career opportunities in the construction industry.
OKC Date: October 25th
Location: OKC Fairgrounds, Pavilion Building
Event Time: 9 am – 2 pm
How to Help: Assist students with the hands-on activity at the NWiR Oklahoma Council booth (roof demo with cap-nailing on one side/ shingling on the other side). Talk to students about what you do at your job – tell your story! What do you enjoy about your job? Inform students about the variety of roles in the roofing industry and career opportunities (from job site to office, contractor to manufacturer, sales to business ownership).
