Event Recap

The Northern New Jersey Council got together to bond and burn off some stress throwing hatchets at Stumpy's Hatchet House. Pecks Brothers graciously sponsored the event, which was a great opportunity for members to connect over food, drink, and hatchet throwing. We had quite a few bullseyes! The Council is planning it's December quarterly event and is excited to share details in the near future!

We are so thankful for all of those who contributed new coats for The Gatehouse. This is our third year in doing our Holiday Event with a Coat Drive. We were able to collect over 110 coats that will be distributed to women and children who have started a new chapter of their lives at The Gatehouse in Grapevine, Texas.

On November 20, 2019, the Tennessee Council joined together at ABC Supply Company for a presentation by Owens Corning. Karen Codiano presented valuable information about their company’s products, such as shingles, insulation, and composites. The members enjoyed lunch and learning about the types of shingles and the testing required for a certified Owens Corning Shingle. NWIR-Seattle had an amazing turnout and several new faces join us at Nu-Ray Metals in Auburn, WA. We were graciously hosted by Sue Fabri and her team. The chapter was taken on a tour of their multi-building facility where it showcased their stock of metals and nearly 24-hr fabrication team.   Twenty women from the Central Pennsylvania council attended a training at the Sands Casino and Resort in Bethlehem, PA. The group learned about a roof walk/inspection performed by Robert Ganter Contractors out of Quakertown, PA. Robert Ganter Contractors also demonstrated how to properly flash a pipe, curb and parapet wall using self-adhered EPDM single-ply membrane.
