The NWiR Tennessee Council hosted a lunch and learn for members to learn more about roof safety. Kelsey Unland, with Meridian Safety, presented her experience being a safety auditor in the roofing industry. 18 council members represented the NWiR Tennessee Council at NWIR Day in Dallas! Several were first-time attendees and one of our very own, Brittany Taylor was awarded the N.E.W.S Scholarship. We even had a few of our members host breakout sessions! We are so proud of each and every one of our members for being one of the best in the industry!
Yes, sir! She's in Roofing! For our February NWiR Tennessee council meeting, we celebrated the launch of a new brand "She's In Roofing." Additionally with a reflection of how valuable women are to the industry and an apparel fashion show. The NWiR Tennessee Council kicked off 2023 by hosting a lunch and learn led by a fellow NWiR member. Mandy McIntyre presented eye-opening statistics about mental health in the roofing industry. The council learned how to address their team members that may be struggling and how to listen to employees more effectively for signs. The NWiR Tennessee Council enjoyed a lunch and learn hosted by Rackley Roofing. Speaker, Roger White, advised our council on leadership and how to become a better YOU! After a short PowerPoint presentation, the council took time to create their own "house" to better understand our foundation and what it takes to become an effective leader.

The NWiR Tennessee Council is kicking off monthly meetings with business and bowling. We enjoyed bowling, laughter, and networking at Pinewood Social on July 20, 2022. We introduced our new Chair, Megan Malone, and co-chair, Kim Schwind. During this meeting, we also met new members looking to join our group within the next few weeks! Our Tennessee Council member, Vanessa Williams, has been promoted to Director of Brand at Rackley Roofing Company in Carthage, TN. She has joined a leadership seat in the company and is excelling tremendously in the industry. She currently sits on the mentorship committee at the national level. Her drive for learning has been inspiring for everyone in the TN Council and beyond. She is a great asset to NWiR and the Rackley Roofing teams.
