Mike Thomas, GAF CARE Trainer, presented to a room of contractors and local members. and covered changes insurance companies are making that are impacting homeowners and what they can do to support them through the claim process. The NWiR Kansas City Council is making a difference this winter by organizing a coat drive for Cross-Lines Community Outreach, a well known safety net for the community of Kansas City, Kansas. Boxes were set up with distribution partners all over the metro and more than 20 bags of winter clothing for men, women and children were collected and donated! NWiR Kansas City hosted their first annual Harvesters for Hot Dogs. The event was sponsored by CertainTeed, which included prize giveaways and a food truck! Dozens of people showed up with donations from all over the metro from various roofing contractors and distributors while enjoying a food truck lunch. At the event, over 800 pounds of food was collected and donated to Harvesters. It was a great event!
The newly relaunched NWiR Kansas City Council held another membership drive last month, resulting in several new memberships! In this fun networking event, each current member was encouraged to bring a potential new member for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.
