In August the NWiR DFW Council had Beth Kegley with Beacon and Luciano Perez with KPost come in to talk to us about safety. Beth discussed in detail safety in traveling and general safety. We all learned so many useful things when traveling alone or just in groups of women specifically. Did you know you should always prop your door open and check the room BEFORE you close your hotel door? Did you know that fire ladders can’t go up past the 6th floor so you should request a room between the 2nd and 6th floor? Luciano discussed harness and ladder safety with our group. We are fortunate enough to know now about some specific PPE that is available for women that might fit us better than some of the typical PPE that is designed for men. We are so thankful for these guests and all we learned.
