As we start a new year the Education Committee would like to send a huge thank you out to all those who helped make 2021 a success. Throughout the year we were fortunate to have many companies, members, entrepreneurs and business owners donate time and talent. It would be difficult to recognize them all, so here are some standouts from the year. First, our very own committee member Jae Horbacz who worked each month to research and secure information focused on advancing the NWiR members technical knowledge and expertise. Another group we had the pleasure of working with in 2021 was the GAF Care Team. Words can’t express how grateful we are to have worked with this amazing team. The GAF Care team donated their time and talent not once, but twice. With their help and the help of some awesome councils we held two live hands on training demos in 2021 on all things asphalt shingles. The committee closed out the year with 60+ members becoming OSHA 10 certified thanks to the Tremco Safety Team. Throughout the year the Education committee focused on delivering our core message, Education is…technical resources. In 2022 the goal is to continue that focus and never stop building! Building on our technical resources, and building our professional and personal skill sets. We will kick off January with some content on dealing with burn out. The entire Education Committee hopes everyone was able to slow down over the holiday season and we are looking forward to kicking off another successful year. If there are topics you want to hear about in 2022 please reach out. We will also be looking for SME’s within our membership who might be interested in sharing their knowledge. Happy New Year from the Education Committee!
